APL is a good platform for young cricketers, says Kris Srikant

Visakhapatnam World Cup 1983 hero Krishnamachari Srikanth praised Andhra Cricket Association for successfully organising Andhra Premier League (APL) to encourage young talent and popularise the short form of the game.
ACA President P. Sarath Chandra Reddy and secretary S.R. Gopinath Reddy came under praise by former India Test captain and former BCCI Senior Selection Committee Chairman Srikanth on Sunday. He was the chief guest at the final of APzl here on Sunday evening.
At a press conference arranged at YSR ACA VDCA Cricket Stadium, Gopinath Reddy and international player Bharat said that there are many talented cricketers in Andhra and APL will be useful for their promotion.
ACA president Sarath Chandra Reddy said that in the coming days, more people from Andhra should be groomed to become cricketers to represent the country.
Star allrounder Srikanth said that there is no dearth of talent for young cricketers in Andhra. APL to recognize the talent of young cricketers, he said.
Sarat Chandra Reddy said Vizag is a good venue to host national and international cricket matches. Through APK there will be an opportunity to prepare some people to play at the national level, he said.
He appreciated the development of the Vizag Stadium for skill development among the players.
He said that last year's APL-1 was well received and the current APL-2 became more popular. Earlier, Srikanth opened a stand at the cricket stadium named after N.Venkata Rao, former secretary of Andhra Cricket Association.
